Mis primeros cupcakes / My first cupcakes

A disfrutar!

It is the very first time I prepare cupcakes! I know that they look pretty, and in the photos they look like the perfect model but there is something about the frosting that is not convincing for me... I may not have eaten a very good one until now or simply I don't die for this extremely buttery flavour.
Some time ago I received an e-mail from "The Cupcake Factory BA" in Argentina because they wanted to promote their cupcakes and their delivery service. Unfortunately I live quite far away from Argentina now but I told them to send some to my mum and sister, I trust their opinion very much, they would be my eyes, well... my senses.

They both agreed that these lemon pie cupcakes they received where a real delicacy! And the packaging is so cute (thanks to my sister for taking the pictures at the bottom of this post so you can see it by your own). Their website is also very nice and very inviting. I can't wait to be back home this winter (here) / summer (there- in Argentina) to try them my-self!!
On the meantime, overwhelmed by this cupcake-ish curiosity, I made my own. These delicious cupcakes are sooooo good! Although my first shot, it was much more than a success, am I modest enough?? Moist, pure chocolate taste and the berries frosting made them fresh and sweet. The perfect combination, like when you find that pair of jeans that really suits you, it doesn't happen so often, no? Enjoy!

In the forest for mushrooms... no asking, no touch...

(English version below)

... me emocioné.

Right Amanita muscaria (Toxico / Toxique et psychotrope)

I received a lovely gift from a lovely person, a dearest friend. I talked about mushrooms with her and
how much I would like to go to the forest my-self to harvest them. A couple of weeks later she asked me, ¨what do you have to do on Saturday?¨ and there she was with her big smile giving me a big paper were ¨cueillette (harvest), dégustation and champignons¨ were written in the same phrase. I understood right away, not that difficult, isn't it? I was touched....

That Saturday I headed to Gimel where I met Olivier Jean-Petit-Matile, a kind and talented person with a forever smile in his face ready to make us discover the champignon world. Not to mention that after the 20°C we were constantly having, also cold and rainy weather was waiting for us in the forest... but it was the perfect environment, we were brave enough to enjoy and the forest was dense enough to be our umbrella.

Boletus

There in the forest, the land of beings with little hats... I saw so many of them!!! you don't get an idea! they were everywhere, looking at me at every step I made... in permanent silence... Those that should not be touched were the most appealing of course, the once that called me at the first glance...

We were a nice group and all of us had their discoveries ready to show Olivier to see if ours was the most rare one, like little kids in the search of the hidden treasure. He smelled, observed, touched, tasted (some) and then made us do the same. Those eatable finished straight away in our baskets for the most interesting thing... cook them afterwards!!

Unfortunately, whenever a venenous or toxique mushroom ended up in the same baskets as the eatable ones, we had to leave all of them aside... and the most painful moment was when the most venenous mushroom of all (Amanita citrina) ended up together with the most beautiful and huge bolets... we cried on them...

The cold, the rain and the abandoned bolets made us deiced to go cooking our preciuous harvesting. Olivier had this grill and skillet in which we cooked the choped mushrooms with ¨half a bottle¨ of white wine, salt, pepper and a final touch, a little bit of cream... bread and chatting aroud the champignons grill was extremely reconforting and we forgot the missing bolets... A special day, thank you!
